- Raspberry Mead -

I have to admit I was not planning to like this mead, I feared it was going to be a flavoured squashy mead, over sweet and drifting towards the tastes of prosseco in gold bottles. Nothing and I repeat nothing could be further from my fears. This is a triumph, tart and bursting with flavour, like the wild raspberries I pluck in the wilderness. Like them the flavour doesn't open up, it tears into your mouth, trumpets blaring, the subtly only comes after the flavours begin to subside and the gentle and familiar warmth of the base mead flavour eases through. Briefly, because you will take another mouthful, this is not a drink you will want to leave at one glass, as that burst of flavour is very moreish indeed. This is a drink to enjoy whenever, its' flavour will rule the game but it is more than worth it.

Lovely colour and picks out all the delicious tart flavours of the berry while retaining the classic mead flavour. Delicious on its own or mixed in place of fruit wine in a cocktail. A fabulous introduction to the world of Melomel meads.

Gorgeously tart and balanced, this medium-sweet mead is a perfect pleaser for all pallets. As cups were drained, the refreshing burst of raspberry mellowed into the familiar, warming tones of honey found in all good meads. It is rare to find a mead with such mouth-watering flavour that can still drawback to its root, honey flavour, making this raspberry mead the perfect fireside companion to sip at, savour and enjoy.
