I specialise in painted Bindrune artwork using the Viking Runes of the Elder Futhark, and am deeply inspired by my love of mythology, history, and all facets of the human experience, as well as my own spiritual practices.

 I remember first learning about mead on a historical outing as a child, and it sparked a fascination with the foods, drinks, and customs of our Ancestors' past. Naturally, it was many years before I would be able to try it for myself, but from that first experience, I realised that drinking Mead was not like drinking anything else.

What I find most awe-inspiring is that it was good enough for the Romans and fit to inspire poetry from Viking Gods alike - as rich in history as the trees on the land of which the bees are busy making honey.

A good mead most definitely depends on the quality of its honey, and the care taken in its crafting. It is what makes mead so unique, and what makes Afon Mêl's meads truly shine. I'm really excited to explore the different flavours, and experiment with incorporating mead into some of the cocktail recipes on the website, especially the Espresso Mead-tini!
